How Is Smile Design Carried Out?

We pay attention to all technical criteria that we will list under the Gingival health, Interdental closure, Zenith points, Equilibrium at gingival levels, Level of interdental contact, Relative tooth sizes, Surface structure, Incisal edge configuration titles.

Before starting the smile design, we determine which anatomical structure your face is suitable for and we choose the teeth shape that will suit you the best together. For example, men have sharper and more pronounced lines, whereas women have more transitions that are more rounded and softer.

Which Steps are Followed In the Smile Design?

Horizontal aligning: For the ideal smile, the line passing through the middle of the pupils and the line passing through the middle of the teeth must be parallel to each other.

Symmetry: In order for the shape and size differences of the front teeth to not stand out, symmetry should be paid attention to as much as the facial lines allow.

Gum line: The gum line which is the line that draws the attention when you smile, should be parallel to the upper lip line.

Smile line: The slope of the line that connects the tips of the front teeth that are visible when we smile, should be the same with the slope of the lower lip.

Smile width: To have an aesthetic and beautiful smile, the teeth in the back should be visible to a certain extent. If this is not achieved, dark areas in the corners of the mouth will prevent the formation of a beautiful image.

Golden ratio: The golden ratio that is is encountered in many details of the universe is accepted to be one of the most important criteria for beauty perception. The golden ratio which corresponds to the value 1,618, can be found in Picasso’s many works, the Mona Lisa, the curves of sea shells, the mysterious pyramids of Egypt and in many parts of our life. According to the golden ratio, if every front teeth have a width that is 60% of its neighbor’s width, then an aesthetically pleasing result is achieved. According to this, if the width of the second incisor is 1, then the middle incisor should be 1,618 times wider and the dog tooth should be 0,618 times narrower.
